Just a quick post to say I'm alive. I have a friend hanging around for a few days so I am basically taking it easy. I got a preview DVD for the new Sin City movie at Best Buy, and the movie looks unbelievably awesome. I was a fan of the original comic back when it was coming out in Dark Horse Presents, and to see the shots from the movie juxtaposed with the panels from the comic book, it's just amazing. The noir style and the costumes and dialog, it all looks really exciting. I'll have to see how the finished product comes off, but the preview certainly makes it look promising. I will be watching it on Saturday.

I forgot to mention that I touched a PSP the other day. :) It is kewl. I cannot afford one, but I can still marvel at it's beauty. I enjoyed watching two of my fellow employees who both bought Nintendo DSs geek out over the PSP. One has it pre-ordered. Of course the other one did the dumbest an most amusing thing I could have possibly imagined. Upon opening the package, he proceeded to open the UMD, actually break it appart and remove the optical disk from inside and try to insert it into the PSP. He got the the part where he turned it on, and stood there wondering why it wasn't working until he realized that the disk was supposed to remain INSIDE the case, and had to put it back in, and place the broken halves of the UMD around it. :P It now jams inside the PSP.

Edit: I just thought I would share that with the world, so others may learn from his mistakes and hopefully avoid further PSP mishaps. The sad thing is, someone else is going to do it anyway.

I'm officially sick of my job. I'm just bored with it. As long as it's nothing I'm too invested in, I'm going to move on to something else similar to pay the bills. I have two days off coming up after tomorrow, that is all I'm going to focus on right now.

I watched the rest of Sunabouzu I could find. It's funny as hell. It also got me thinking a little about self image. The main character sustains themselves on the fact that they are the no. 1 badass in the desert. They basically have a big ego (and they are horny) :P. It made me realize for myself anyway, that having a big ego may not be an entirely bad thing. A certain amount of positive illusion about oneself can probably bolster your self image enough to actually make you more successful. Rather than be so "disillusioned" with myself, I should try to build those illusions back up, at least to the point where I can feel good about myself. After all, I am kinda badass.

I got a few things done today. I paid bills and watched more of Devil Lady. I did more writing and some translating of the Lady Sword script. I guess I'm in a bit of a rut, but that's ok for now. Compaired to just a little while ago, I'd take being in a rut any day. At least I am working and eating and getting by on my own. I'm not on any medication or therapy and I'm doing fine. I checked out the first episode of Suna Bouzu. It was ok. It reminded me of Lupin III set in a post-apocalyptic desert. I also picked up the first DVD of Megazone 23 for $10. I haven't watched it yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Well, I have determined that my writing will take anywhere from another 2 weeks to 7 months, though I figure a middle estemate of 3-4 months is fairly reasonable. I'm more used to dealing with longer-range goals now, but I still feel like this is the only thing keeping my spirits up, and it's seems like a long way off. I dusted off Devilman Lady (aka DevilLady, yes "Devilman Lady" sounds sort of weird but I wish they friggin left it alone). I never watched past episode 9 before, so I watched a few more episodes of that. It kicks a lot of ass, I really enjoy it.

I did a lot of work on my translation projects page. It's still a bit rough, but I added a bunch of screenies for things and a bit on projects I didn't have up previously. I also moved all my translation project links from my main page to the translation projects page.

Today is my birthday. Yay! I got my video card today. Yay! Installation was very simple and for now anyway it seems like all my video problems are gone. The only reason I walked over to the post office to see if it was here actually was because my screen had locked up completely and wouldn't refresh. :P I'm really glad it was there. I've been listening to songs from the Sailor Moon live action show pretty much non-stop for the past week or so. I do that sometimes. I really like Keiko Kitagawa's songs (Mars), and Cheiko Kawabe's (Naru) are quite good too. Yakusoku by Chisaki Hama (Mercury) is another of my favorites.

I redid my computer yesterday, redid as in I salvaged a motherboard/ram/processor from one of my friends and installed it in my old case. Everything went rather smoothly, I am now up about 1Ghz in processing, and from a P3 to a P4. I lost 256MB of RAM, but that still leaves me with 512MB and that is plenty. Much thanks to said friend! ^_^ I am still reinstalling some applications and stuff. It's kind of a pain getting everything back exactly as it was. The worst part is the video trouble I've been having where the video will lock up and it won't refresh. I'll have to try to bring up another window, or ctr+alt+del to get it to respond and then I usually have to show/hide desktop to get stuff back. It does it mostly when scolling through text or editing HTML. Grrr... Never scrolling through web pages though. It's wierd. Anyway, I have a new video card coming in the mail, hopefully it will be here around Tues. That should solve the problem.

I did a little work on my PSX Anime List including a bunch of sarcastic random quotes. Make sure to check it out. I am also happy to say that I dumped an honest to goodness script from Lady Sword. I've been playing around with translating bits of it. There are some really cool programmers notes in it, basically a full production diary. Very cool stuff.
