Notice - Help Wanted!

I'm actively seeking talented, motivated people to join the staff team! I'm looking for collectors and players of anime based games who are passionate about their hobby and want to share that with as many people as possible.

I'm not able to pay anyone, but I can honestly say I feel like I'm building a valuable resource and doing something good working on this site, and I think you will too. Please read about the positions and email me if interested.

I'm looking for people for the following positions:

Staff Reviewers - Looking for qualified reviewers to play Japanese import games for the PS, PS2, PSP, etc... Must have the ability to play Japanese region games on Sony systems and/or be familiar with and capable of running emulation software. Personal collection of Japanese games for the covered systems and Japanese language skills a big plus. Please contact with a sample review.

Staff Reporter/Blogger - Looking for an experienced blogger with the ability to read and translate Japanese to make posts on current anime game releases and news. Must be interested in anime and games and motivated to find and write articles of interest to anime gamers. Knowledge of the current Japanese games industry/subscriptions to Japanese game magazines a plus. Tell me what's currently out there that visitors to this site would be interested in.

Staff Coder - Looking for motivated HTML/CSS coder to keep the site updated or possibly someone familiar with dynamic PHP/database coding who is willing to overhaul the entire site. Main responsibilities include adding screen shots, adding listings, and helping expand the site to cover other systems. Ideas and skills for expanding and improving the site welcome. Let me see a site you currently maintain and any ideas you have to improve this site.

Fist of the North Star (Hokuto No Ken) and School Utopia Manabi Straight! Sparkling Happy Festa! (Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! KiraKira Happy Festa!) on PS2

Coming out tomorrow, a game based on the animation Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! The story takes place in 2035 where apparently a declining population is leading to the closing of many schools. Enter energetic student, Amamiya Manabi determined to bring some life back into school life. Here is what the official Playstation page has to say about the game.

"Introducing a game based on the most popular comic serialized in monthly comic Dengeki Daioh and the animated series "Manabi Straight!". The main character "Minabi" together with friends lead the summer festival to success! Outstanding performance of Horie Yui, Nonaka Ai, Hirano Aya voice acting. There is a ending song for each character sung by the voice actress. Hearing all of the special ending songs is an enriching element." (translated)

Also available as a special edition that seems to include a special box, and a drama and bgm CD.

Also released yesterday, a new Fist of the North Star game by the creators of Guilty Gear. This 2D fighting game is based on the first half of the original manga and features the character designs from the 80's anime series. The original voice actors reprise their roles save for Kenshiro nd Rei. The game features beautiful 2D graphics, fast paced fighting and fatal KO techniques similar to the instant kill moves from Guilty Gear. Check out PlayAsia for more info.

Rozen Maiden: Gebetgarten (Geppetto Garden) on PS2

New today, Rozen Maiden get's another PS2 game. This game appears to be a v.s. fighter where the characters can fight in the air something like X the Animation - Choice of Fate. There is also an adventure portion. For additional information, please visit the official site.

Rozen Maiden, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Crest of the Stars, and Captain Harlock on PS2

Released today the Rozen Maiden adventure game, gets a budget priced "Taito best" edition.

Shipping today to meet it's release date tomorrow, a budget edition of the PS2 version of Neon Genesis Evangelion: Koutetsu no Girlfriend Special Edition. Check out some reviews of the original version or its listing on this site for more information. Also shipping today Crest of the Stars gets a budget tactical simulation and adventure re-release.

Kino's Journey, Ah! My Goddess, Lupin III, and Gatchaman Pachi-Slots on PS2

Today Kino no Tabi 2: The Beautiful World, gets a budget priced best edition.

Also released since the last update: Ah! Megami-sama gets a puzzle solving game, also available as a special edition with 6 extras including; A special art box, original pocket watch, goddess special drama CD, extra large dress up sticker, memory card sticker, and 3 limited edition cards.

Lupin the 3rd gets a cinematic action-adventure game, and Science Ninja Team Gatchaman is honored with a pachi-slot simulator.

Welcome to the PSX Anime List, your source for information on anime based games for Sony's Playstation systems. Here you can find all the publication information you are looking for such as release dates, publishing companies, product numbers, and original retail prices. Find descriptive information such as genres, number of players, supported peripherals, and memory requirements as well as descriptions, staff reviews, reader reviews, and translated magazine reviews. Entries includes the largest amount of visual information possible including, box art, screenshots, telephone cards, ads, and photo extras. Stay up to date with frequent and informative news posts on the latest anime based video game releases for Playstation systems. Browse the directory of games, write your own game reviews, and find import game retailers selling new and used games.

This site was started as a fan site for anime based games on the Playstation. I was frustrated with the lack of English language resources for Playstation games that included solid publication information, screenshots, box art, and descriptions and covered games based on anime series. I began by cataloging release information from Sony's official Playstation page, translating game descriptions from Japanese to English, scanning my own box art and capturing screenshots. I got permission from Anime News Network, AnimeNfo, and GameFAQs, to link to various pertinent information on their sites. I launched the site on January 1st of 2005 but much of the work was done during 2004.

This site is constantly growing with new content, news, and resources. I intend to continue to expand the site to include better features, and more information about anime based games on the various Playstation platforms and maybe even others such as Sega's and NEC's. There are still some entries for Playstation/PSX that are incomplete including missing box art or screen shots. There are also still games missing from the listing. Please feel free to contact me with submissions including box art, screen shots, and games missing from the list. If you are suggesting a game for addition please check the list thoroughly to make sure it's not already included. I've presented games by their translated names so it's sometimes easy to overlook a game that is already there. I'd also recommend including the SLPM/SLPS number, and a link to a listing of the anime that is featured in the game on either Anime News Network or AnimeNfo. Also I'm not currently including games from Dragon Ball, Zoids, Gundam, or Sanrio. There are a number of games based on these series and I frankly don't have any interesting listing them all when there are so many more interesting and less documented games still missing from the list. I'm currently only adding PSX/PS1 era Playstation games though I intend to expand to PS2 and PSP shortly.
