It's Hot!! Also more anime, "To Aru Kagaku no Railgun" and "Working!"

It's a full moon today. It doesn't feel so brutally hot finally. Either it was cooler today or I'm just getting used to the near 90 degree temperatures. Just to put into perspective the relative extreme of these temperatures, it snowed around 2 weeks ago and it will be in the 40s tonight. Leaping straight into the high 80s and low 90s the past couple days is sudden to say the least. Ugh!

I'm just about finished watching To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. I knew nothing about this series and the first episode totally blew me away. I really got hooked on this. However I'm now on the 2nd to last episode and I have to say that the series hasn't lived up to it's initial promise.

It's about a few students who attend a school specially for kids with super powers. It's a bit more like Mai Hime than X-men. One of the main characters is an electricity user and is nicknamed the "Railgun" due to her incredibly destrictuve ability to launch metal with electromagnetism.

The series starts off with a lot of humor, some action, and great designs, characters, and animation. However, it doesn't quite live up to it's promise and while there are some great episodes and neat twists, overall it starts to become a bit predictable and boring. It's still more entertaining than a lot of things out there so it's definitely worth checking out.

I'll probably be watching Working! next. I know nothing about it other than it is a comedy that takes place in a restaurant concerning it's employees. Due to it's cursory similarity to Welcome to Pia Carrot I can't pass up checking this one out.
